Description
Up for sale is The Ecstasy Collection number STS1. This collection or set consists of three hand turned, hand finished objets d’ art and their custom display or carrying case. All three objets d’ art are made from the same piece of vintage beech wood and each measures approximately 8.5″ long by 2″ wide. Each objet is finished in 5 coats of hand sanded / polished water based polyurethane. When ever I turn a wood project I always finish it to be as smooth as is humanly possible. These 3 objets, for obvious reasons, had to be even better than that. Until you feel them you won’t believe how it’s possible to have an item, made out of wood, be this smooth. I’ve even given each objet a nickname; Waves of Ecstasy, Rocket to Planet Ecstasy, Double EGGstasy. I wish I could take full credit for the display case but I purchased a plain unfinished wood box online and then customized it for this project. As you may have noticed I’ve been describing these items as objets d’ art, and that’s what I am “officially” selling them as, but if you choose to put the objets to use here are a few details you should know. First, beech wood is one of the least toxic hardwoods available for woodworking today. Let’s put it this way, if Budweiser beer is aged and flavored with beech wood then you know it’s totally non toxic. Second, as I said, these objets are finish (basically sealed) in 5 coats of WATER based polyurethane. So, unless you are allergic to plastic these objets are perfectly safe for contact. Last, these objets are large and not for the faint of heart (inexperienced). As with all the items that I make and offer for sale, this set will come with a full color letter (that doubles as a sort of COA) describing this set and how to care for it.
I think that this collection would make the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift for that special someone in your life. Or, maybe just as a really wonderful something to treat yourself to.
